I Need a Minute privacy policy

Last updated: April 9, 2026.

Overview

I Need a Minute is designed to help you during moments of executive dysfunction. Your privacy is fundamental to that mission. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

Data stored on your device

I Need a Minute is built local-first. Your actions, contacts, routines, and preferences are stored on your iPhone and never leave your device unless you choose to enable cloud sync.

  • Action configurations (lanes, messages, links)
  • Recipient names and contact details you enter
  • Notification preferences and check-in settings
  • Episode run history (capped at 200 entries)

Optional cloud sync

If you sign in with Apple, your action setup is encrypted in transit and stored in a secure cloud database so you can restore it on a new device. Your cloud data includes:

  • Your Apple ID email (used only for authentication)
  • A JSON snapshot of your action configuration

Cloud sync is optional. The app works fully offline without an account.

Data we do not collect

  • No in-app analytics or tracking of any kind
  • No advertising identifiers
  • No location data
  • No third-party SDKs that collect data
  • No data shared with or sold to third parties

Permissions

The app may request access to:

  • Contacts — to help you pick trusted people during setup. Contact data is read once and never uploaded.
  • Notifications — for optional daily check-ins and micro-challenge reminders. All notifications are local.
  • Apple Health (HealthKit) — if you opt in, the app reads sleep, steps, heart rate variability, and active energy data to show correlations with your episodes. Health data is processed on-device only and is never uploaded or shared.

Account deletion

If you created an account, you can delete it at any time from Setup in the app. Deletion permanently removes your cloud data, profile, and authentication record. Local data on your device is also cleared.

Website

This website uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand which pages are visited and where traffic comes from. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across sites. No individual visitor can be identified. Hosting infrastructure may collect standard server logs (IP address, request time) which are not used for profiling.
